Quint had no first or middle name. Peter Benchley did not give him one in the book and Spielberg did not give him one in the movie. You lose all credibility by creating a Jaws Wiki with patently false information. His only known name was QUINT.

Firstly, before hypocritically suggesting that anyone possesses a lack of credibility you should do your homework, and secondly you should study this wiki further before making a statement that is irrelevant within the context of this wiki. Finally, rather than ban you for making belligerent comment I suggest you do some further research before posting or contributing to this wiki.

Creative additions to names and to JAWS as a subject are welcome here as long as they weave into canon in a way that embellishes and respects the theme. This is a fan site at its core, not another dry and drab wiki with creative limitations. If you're looking for that, please visit Wikipedia.

BTW: In doing research I also suggest you search the name 'Sam Quint'. Not only is it not canon, oddly it is also widely referred to on the net as having been Quints full name. In your canon policing efforts you might want to start by attempting to eradicate that and see if IMDB and a plethora of other sites will comply with your request(s). Good luck matey.

I wasn't trying to be belligerent. Point taken about it being a fanfic wiki, and yes I guess Bartholomew sounds as good a first name as any for Quint. I just hate the whole thing about people on the net being convinced that "Sam Quint" is his name. I'm sure you know how rumors spread like wildfire. Some guy writes that Sam is Quint's first name and people start googling "quint first name." Everyone sees the original post and assumes it's canon, because 99% of people are thoughless sheep. I must have been in a bad mood the first time I posted. I also assumed no one would read it.

No worries matey - Thanks for the clarification. I completely understand your ideology in so far as net rumors go. That's always a tough quandary to deal with. Never the less, here's drink'n to creativity and the thin line between fact and fiction....welcome aboard by the way.
