Depiction[]

In Jaws 2, Tina steals Eddie's sunhat, and he runs along the beach after her, only for them to notice a dead Orca (Killer Whale) along the sand, where it lies rotting in the sun. When Chief Martin Brody and marine biologist Dr. Lureen Elkins come to examine it, the huge bite marks on the dead Orca suggest that it got into a fight with another animal. Though Brody immediately attributes the attack to a Great White Shark, Dr. Elkins is not so certain, stating that the attack could have happened fifteen miles out at sea and that none of the wounds were immediately fatal, also that the bites could have been enlarged by scavenging. Despite this, Dr. Elkins states that only another Killer Whale or a Great White Shark could have killed the 7.5 meter Orca, and only then, a Great White of considerable size.

Jaws Unleashed[]

In Jaws Unleashed, another Orca that lives at the Amity Island SeaWorld Aquarium is the first boss to battle and it is killed by the shark in front of several terrified tourists, and the shark then escapes back into the ocean.

Differences[]

  • Even though in both Jaws 2 and Jaws Unleashed they were depicted as victims toward their respective antagonists, in real life Orcas are known to prey on Great Whites, the specific breed that; Brucette and the anonymous shark from Jaws Unleashed belonged to and if anything, Great Whites greatly fear Orcas.
