This bridge became famous after appearing in several scenes in Jaws. In fact, this bridge is so famous that it has its own Google Maps page and related merchandise. People who visit the island consider it to be an achievement to have jumped off the 'Jaws bridge'.
Rebuild[]
The bridge was rebuilt around 2012-2013. Prior to the rebuild, boards were becoming frayed, which was considered dangerous for people to walk on. The new design retains some of the original structural aesthetic, however, much of the wood has been replaced with concrete.
The bridge is located on Beach Road, directly in between Edgartown and Oak Bluffs.
